Website for sharing flight simulator screenshots. Repository of aircraft, airlines and addons.
In 2023, I set out to build a place for sharing flight simulator screenshots. Sites like JetPhotos and Planespotters were the biggest inspiration: I wanted to see what happened when you brought real photography discipline into the flight simulation world.
SimPictures is a place for a niche community of flight simulation enthusiasts who care about photography, people creating outstanding, unique shots and connecting over a shared passion for aviation.
When you upload a screenshot, you add metadata (flight simulator, aircraft, addon, airline, route) and assign it a category and subcategory. This lets anyone viewing your picture see exactly what you used to build the scene, discover new addons for their own setups, and (soon) search the site for shots of a specific aircraft, addon, or airport.
In effect, SimPictures has become a JetPhotos-style database, not just of airframes, but of the addons behind them too, for the flight simulation world, spanning every simulator (MSFS, X-Plane, DCS, and more) rather than just one.
Every submission is manually reviewed by our team of screeners, experienced photographers who apply real-life photography techniques to flight simulators. Our guidelines cover everything from picture categories to framing, lighting, and composition, so you know what to expect before and after you submit.
We hold submissions to a consistently high standard, both in screenshot quality and in the accuracy of the metadata attached to them.
Keeping metadata accurate means keeping the underlying database accurate too. Whenever someone adds an aircraft, addon, or airline we don’t have yet, we research it ourselves before adding it, so the database stays consistent with what’s actually available in the flight simulator market, not just whatever a user happened to type in.
I regularly share the best pictures on social media, along with site updates and other news.

Hello, my name is Nikolai! I live in Helsinki, Finland.
I started this project in 2023. As a software development student, developing and maintaining SimPictures has given me an incredible amount of knowledge and skills over the past few years.
I’ve always been fascinated by civil aviation, and this fascination led me to flight simulation.
In fact, I absolutely enjoy flying planes. I started with mobile simulators and eventually progressed to full-featured platforms like X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator, flying on VATSIM as well.
Hi, I'm Serafim (a.k.a. Feurum). I was born and raised in Moscow, the capital of Russia. As a child, I fell in love with metal birds and spent a lot of my free time watching them from under the fence. Nothing could stop me from spending hours like this. Neither the weather, nor the disapproving looks of friends and acquaintances who did not understand my passion and took me for another concerned fanatic who believed in living airplanes.
Flight simulators occupy a separate chapter in my life. Naturally, like any aviation fanatic, I have thousands of hours of flying in the virtual sky behind me. I have always been interested in flying to a new place, admiring the landscapes opening up from above. Thanks to technology, we can discover our earth virtually - a digital copy of the earth has been recreated 1 to 1 and everyone has the opportunity to study it. Thanks to aviation, I became interested in other things - learning English and photography. That's why I spend so much time after the flight carefully composing the shot in the replay, trying to give it a fresh look and color.

My passion for aviation has always been there as far as I can remember. I started planespotting in 2008 and started using FS2002. From there on I moved onto FSX, P3Dv4 and v5, XP11, XP12 and MSFS. From not knowing how to properly fly any plane, to flying as professional as I can on VATSIM.
After Graduating in early 2024, I started my apprenticeship to becoming an Aircraft Mechanic, finally getting to work near and on planes. On top of that I still continue to proceed planespotting to this day with updated gear and know how, uploading to JetPhotos, Planespotters and more.
Hi, I’m Feroz! I’ve been passionate about aviation for as long as I can remember. My love for planes led me to start planespotting in 2017, initially using my phone to capture photos. Over time, my interest grew, and in 2023, I invested in a camera to enhance my skills. Now, I share my photos on JetPhotos, connecting with a global community of aviation enthusiasts.
In 2022, I took my passion for aviation a step further by diving into flight simulation. It’s an amazing way to explore the technical side of flying and fuel my dream of one day becoming a pilot. When I’m not planespotting or simming, I enjoy playing video games to relax and have fun.
My ultimate goal is to travel the world and become a pilot. Aviation is more than just a hobby for me, it’s a lifelong passion and a way to experience the incredible diversity our world has to offer.

Hi, I’m Max (a.k.a. makm), an aviation enthusiast and flight simmer born in Switzerland, where I also live today. Aviation has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, airplanes fascinated me, watching them take off, listening to the engines, and dreaming of one day sitting in the cockpit myself.
Flight simulation plays a special role in my life. I spend a lot of time flying on VATSIM, where I enjoy realistic operations, proper procedures, and the feeling of being part of a living aviation environment. Flight simulation allows me to explore airports around the world and experience aviation beyond limits, while maintaining a strong focus on realism and immersion.
I often visit Zurich Airport, sometimes for planespotting and photography, but sometimes I simply put my phone and camera away and just watch the aircraft. Standing there, observing takeoffs and landings, often becomes an emotional moment for me, a quiet reminder of why I fell in love with aviation in the first place.
Aviation is more than a hobby to me, it’s a lifelong passion and a dream. My goal is to become a pilot one day and turn this passion into reality.
Outside of aviation, I enjoy spending time in nature. Hiking in the mountains helps me clear my mind and slow down. Photography is another passion of mine, especially landscapes and nature, but also aviation related shots.
SimPictures wouldn’t be possible without our team of volunteer screeners, contributors of numerous open-source packages SimPictures operates on, and other projetcs, such as Font Awesome (https://fontawesome.com/license/free ), and OurAirports (https://ourairports.com/ ). Thank you!
